15 Link Building Priorities

It isn’t often that I so heavily encourage your attention to another blog though this is going to be one of those times. Alexandru over at Shylock Blogging has written one of the most valuable SEO resources available today and my hope is that he keeps it up to date.

“‘Content is king’, that’s what everyone says. And it’s true. However, content is useless if it doesn’t get read.”

He’s compiled a list of 15 different methods of link building, each with ratings addressing variables for consideration: difficulty to use, time consumed, and quality of the links to your site. He’s covered the obvious – link buying and link bait, digg and del.icio.us, even my new favorite: Sphinn

Though a wonderfully rich list of opportunities, he also summarizes your priorities best by saying, “Spend your link building efforts on methods that give High Quality backlinks. Yes, they might be much harder to obtain, but take my advice, between 100 backlinks in forum signatures and 1 backlink from a high profile blog, take the 1 backlink” – Good SEO is work, there is no easy way out.
