CEO of the Year

Congratulations! You sent me spam to promote your offer to… wait, pay you to be featured as CEO of the year? WTF? You now find yourself among the illustrious thousands of people who send the exact same spam and clearly don’t actually qualify anyone.

With your help, my time and attention were distracted to read an offer from you. You didn’t look into what we do, into who I am, or endeavor to provide something of value so that my consideration of you is worthwhile.

If you personally, truly, wanted to send this spam, you’re in a rough place in your career and I’d like to do what I can to help you find a meaningful job – Start Here. If instead your manager or boss is asking you to send spam, send them this page – they’re disrespectful of other people and probably a need to take a Marketing and Ethics class; I’m happy to tell them that since you’re in a tough position to push back on them.

As a thank you, I’ve added it to my list of businesses that repeatedly advertise on Hulu, reported you to ADWEAK, and informed Mark Zuckerberg that you’re probably buying personal data from Facebook.

If you’re a business owner, let me try to help: this is not the way to do it.

Create value by developing a unique value proposition – offer something, create distinct and compelling content, develop a platform people might value, or at least propose something that your target might actually need.

People who need help from service providers will seek the best service provider for what they need – your spam merely hurts your brand, gets your website reported to Google, and gets emails flagged. Good job!
