Google’s has opened FeedBurners’ MyBrand domain service allowing bloggers and websites to brand their RSS domains free of charge. The MyBrand service allows publishers to obtain a branded experience while leveraging FeedBurner’s RSS optimization and analytics technologies. You accomplish this by changing the CNAME in your DNS records to point to the FeedBurner account creating a feed at your domain instead of the feeds.feedburner.com.
If you aren’t already using FeedBurner to manage your feeds, give them a second look, their technology normalizes feeds to ensure any reader can parse the data while adding comprehensive insights regarding interaction with the feed.
I’m glad that they got rid of the fee for “going pro” as they used to call it. You can get the additional web analytics data about your feed, but you have to actually “opt in” to it and turn it on. So, if you’re using feedburner than make sure you go turn it on so you’re getting the extra data for free.
