One of my favorite industry print publications was recently acquired by iNET Interactive and I was curious what interest a social media company would have in a trade magazine.
Launched in early 2006, Search Marketing Standard delivers practical, intuitive search marketing information immediately applicable to search engine programs. With insight on pay-per-click advertising, search engine optimization, and industry developments and trends, it really is a great subscription for those that want an offline read.
iNET, on the other hand, is the social media company running online communities such as WebHostingTalk.com and HotScripts.com for industry professionals and enthusiasts; to that end they recently acquired HostingCon, the largest trade show and conference in the web hosting and hosted services industry. Search Marketing Standard seems a fit in bringing an editorial voice to their community of developers and marketers. I spoke briefly with iNET’s Kevin Gold who shared,
“Search Marketing Standard (a “niche†publication) as an excellent tool to reach out to the community to provide relevant, helpful and easy to digest content similar to how we use email marketing, social media marketing, events and conferences. Although our focus is social media primarily centered on growing and supporting online communities, we see our role as serving the community members wherever and however they need it. Ideally, the print publication will also drive members back online to continue the conversation and sharing of ideas.”
Grab a subscription to Search Marketing Standard and join iNET’s Web Hosting Talk to get access to thousands of online marketing peers sharing tips and advice.
